  20.         *Initiating a Connect

  22.                     There are two method available with XPCOM to start
  23.                     a packet connection.  The first is more traditional
  24.                     in nature.
  25.  
  26.                     Steps
  27.  
  28.                     a.   Press the ALT C key sequence.
  29.                     b.   Enter the call sign of the Station that you
  30.                              wish to connect to.
  31.                     c.   Press the enter key
  32.                     d.   At this point the TNC will start the
  33.                              Connect Request
  34.                     e.   If  you wish to disconnect the link press the
  35.                              ALT D.

  38.                     The second method is to use the Mheard list
  39.                     to find out which stations have  been "heard" by
  40.                     the TNC.
  41.  
  42.                     Steps
  43.  
  44.                     a.   Press the F6 function key.  At this point a
  45.                              window will displayed with the last 18
  46.                              stations that were decoded.
  47.  
  48.                     b.   You may connect to one of these stations by
  49.                              using cursor keys to select the desired
  50.                              station and pressing the return.  If you are
  51.                              using a mouse place the mouse cursor on the
  52.                              desired station and press the left mouse
  53.                              button.   A connect attempt will be made.
  54.  
  55.                     c.   If you do not wish to connect with one of the
  56.                              station simply press the 'ESC' key or press
  57.                              the mouse button off of the Mheard window.

  113.  
  114.                     After the connect has been established a window
  115.                     will appear on the screen.  In the upper left
  116.                     corner will be the CALL SIGN of the station
  117.                     connected to as well a File Status. The file
  118.                     status is used to tell the user whether or not he
  119.                     has a capture file opened on that channel.  The
  120.                     user may use the ALT R keystroke sequence to
  121.                     begin/end a capture file.

  123.                     To initiate another connect use the ALT C command
  124.                     of use the Mheard list.  The program will look for
  125.                     the next available channel and start the connect
  126.                     process.   A message will be displayed at the
  127.                     bottom of the screen that a "Connect Attempt" is
  128.                     in process.

  156. *Moving and Sizing XP Windows

  158.          The windows used in XPCOM for AEA Host mode may be
  159.          moved and sized freely by the user.

  161.          Using a mouse

  163.                 To Move a window with a mouse :

  165.                     a.   Place the mouse on the BORDER of the window.
  166.  
  167.                     b.   Press and hold the LEFT button on the MOUSE.

  169.                     c.   Move window to desired location.

  171.                 To Size a window using the Mouse:

  173.                     a.   Place the cursor in the LOWER RIGHT corner
  174.                              of the window.

  176.                     b.   PRESS and HOLD the Left Mouse button.

  178.                     c.   Size window as desired and release the Mouse Button.

  180.                 To Toggle (ALT F3) the window size :

  182.                     a.   Place the mouse cursor on the extreme UPPER
  183.                              RIGHT hand corner of the window and press the
  184.                              Left mouse button.

  187.          Using the Keyboard

  189.                 To move a window using the keyboard.

  191.                     a.   Press the F4.
  192.  
  193.                     b.   Use the UP, DOWN, LIGHT and RIGHT arrow keys
  194.                              to move the window on the screen.  The Page
  195.                              up, Page down, Home and End keys may also be
  196.                              used.  These keys allow for a larger movement
  197.                              ( 5 rows / columns per keystroke ).

  199.                     c.   Press the 'ESC' key when done.

  201.                 To size a window using the keyboard.

  203.                     a.   Press the F4.

  205.                     b.   Hold the Shift key down.  Some laptops
  206.                              require pressing the NUM lock key to enter a
  207.                              shifted keyboard mode.

  209.                     c.   Use the UP, DOWN, LIGHT and RIGHT arrow keys
  210.                              to size the window on the screen.  The Page
  211.                              Up, Page Down, Home and End Keys may be used
  212.                              to make a larger change in the size ( 5 lines)

  214.                     d.   Press the 'ESC' key when done.  This will
  215.                              return you to normal operating mode.

  266.          It is possible to display all available windows on the
  267.          screen simultaneously.  To tile the windows press ALT
  268.          F1 or use the menu option Tile Windows in the
  269.          Setup menu.  This will redraw all windows on the
  270.          screen, with each window having the same phyical size.
  271.          The user may use the Toggle Window command to maximize
  272.          the current receive channels window.

  293.     *Cascading Windows (ALT F1)

  295.          Cascading windows allows the user to stack windows on
  296.          the screen,  giving a partial view of all background
  297.          activity.  This option places the current "ACTIVE WINDOW"
  298.          at the top of the stack.  To change the top window,  either
  299.          click the mouse on the top border of the window or use the
  300.          or PAGE DOWN keys.

  338.         Currently the software is implemented for 300 and 1200 baud
  339.         operation for the PK232, and 300, 1200 and 2400 Baud

  342.         To initiate a connect press the ALT-C key. This will pull up
  343.         a connect to dialog box. This box allows up to 20
  344.         characters. This is done to allow for routing etc. To start
  345.         the connect press the return key.

  347.      If you wish to issue a disconnect press the ALT-D key
  348.      sequence.

  377.         This will pull up the Mheard buffer from the TNC. If you
  378.         wish to 'connect' to a particular station, highlight the
  379.         selection and press the mouse button or return key.

  382.         choosen for the connect.  This allows the user to use the
  383.         Mheard function to initiate Multi-Connects.

  436.      be displayed in the back (receive window).  To toggle
